What is a BINGO TRADING CARD?

A little bit ago, it was common on certain social media communities to do “personal bingos”—you'd fill out a bingo card, putting in each square a little about yourself. For example, your favorite things, aspects of your identity, life experiences, opinions…. why don't I just show you mine so you can see what I mean…?

I've always loved this idea, and that's definitely not because of my obsessive love for bingo-themed internet games in general, definitely not, no ma'am. You'd post your card, and people would reply with everything on your card that also applies to them. Then, they would make a card, and you'd do the same thing for theirs, replying with everything about them that resonated with you.

This is a little bit like that. You can take one of my pre-made bingo trading cards (or make your own), fill it out, and place it somewhere on your personal website for others to see. Then, collect others' cards below, fill out what on their card applies to you, and placeyour filled out cards below or near where you have placed your personal card.

The card template was created by card conjurer.

Some tips:

-Please link back to this page if you do this. It explains what this is all about!

-Don't list anything about yourself you wouldn't feel comfortable having pasted on someone else's website. Because that's where your card might be if you trade!

-Don't reveal any information that could be used to identify you in the real world unless you really understand and really want to.

-I suggest resizing your collected cards to be smaller.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:

-Please ASK to trade! This is optional, but I really hope you will follow the spirit of this concept. I want to encourage communication and help people connect over shared interests, find new things they may enjoy, and spark interpersonal discussion just in general. Email a webmaster, leave a comment on their profile/guestbook/what have you, discord them—but ask first! I suggest including (a link to) your filled out version of their card, and then asking if A) you can put it on your site and B) if they'd like to fill out yours. Some people may say yes to the first question and no to the second one—-that's okay too. Sometimes you don't have a lot in common. I do encourage everyone to try a full trade a few times, though! 🙂

WHY make a BINGO TRADING CARD?

-Learn more about other webmasters' lives, interests, and opinions.

-Find a conversation starter—a shared interest, something they do you've always wanted to try, a question about their favorite band.

-Collect your favorite webpeople like athletes or pop culture collectibles.

-Show off your friends!

If you'd like to trade with me, let me know in my guestbook, about page, or by email - [email protected].
